Pipistrel has been at the forefront of alternative propulsion since 2007 when they introduced the world’s first two-seat electric aircraft, the Taurus Electro. Today, we proudly present the Velis Electro, the world’s first type-certified electric aircraft approved for pilot training in Day Visual Flight Rules (VFR) operations across 30+ countries.
The Velis Electro is rewriting the rules of sustainability in aviation. It produces zero emissions during operation and boasts noise levels as low as 60 dBa, ensuring a serene experience both inside and outside the aircraft. It’s a revolution in sustainable flight.
Safety is top priority, and the Velis Electro doesn’t compromise. Its power comes from Pipistrel’s own type-certified electric engine, the E-811, generating 57.6 kW from a 345 VDC electric system and an in-house developed dual battery system. This groundbreaking powertrain is entirely liquid-cooled, chargeable through the onboard port, and has demonstrated safety levels equal to or higher than conventionally powered aircraft. Velis Electro sets the benchmark for safety in electric aviation.
